Tourism Inspiration together with VisitBritain and Northern England have put together the texts and images to create the Northern England brochure for the Vakantiebeurs. Furthermore, contact was made with possible advertisers & partners, in order to pay for the brochure creation.

Tourism Inspiration was responible for translation, copy writing, image selection and map creation.

Creating a Social Media Plan for Hostelle

Hostelle Site

Tourism Inspiration* & Hostelle** are now working together on a Social Media Plan for Hostelle.

Hostelle is the first and only all-female hostel in Amsterdam. They have a great new website and communicate over a few social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, as well as Pinterest & Bloglovin’(though currently not really explored yet).

A Social Media Plan for Hostelle: Step 1, Theory

The idea is to ensure that the brand will grow fanbase on all platforms, in order to get people enticed to go to the website and book via the booking engine. As one knows, external booking platforms, such as Booking.com, Expedia, Trivago & the likes, can ask for a hefty commission fee, chewing into profits.

Thus, an integrated social media plan is needed, where the site sits centrally, and all social media platforms will post from that site. As such, not only the fan base on each platform will grow, and interact with the brand. Posting from the website will ensure that backlinks come from each of the different social media platforms, making it easier to get indexed by Search Enginges (Google, Bing, etc).

Furthermore, by carefully creating clever blogs & landing pages, it should be possible to funnel people through the site to the booking enigine, as well as getting them there directly. See representation below.

A Social Media Plan for Hostelle: Step 2 an audit.

As mentioned aboove, Hostelle is already present on the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, as well as Pinterest & Bloglovin’. Most of these platforms are already on brand, though some platforms need to be further explored & explanded. 

For each of these platforms one has to explore, what kind of fanbase exist, what posts do work, what don’t and how effective these posts are.

For planning we can use a day to day excel sheet, where to post what on each channel.

 

A Social Media Plan for Hostelle: Step 4, using tools & measuring

Using tools such as bit.ly & Hootsuite  we can shorten the links, and plan ahead. Furthermore, using such tools, as well as website analytics such as Google Analytics, or Jetpack, etc., will give us the opportunity, to analyse the data. Think about the following questions, how often, do our links get forwarded, re-posted, and how do the links to site & booking engine perform?

Remember: Measuring, is knowing exactly what works and what doesn’t. This way one can almost predict how each post will perform.

 

A Social Media Plan for Hostelle: Step 5, optimisation

After careful consideration it is then time to pick & choose. What will be the star performers, and what won’t. At the end of the day, this is where the money is made. Eventually, the bottom line is where succes is measured: there need to be bookings through these media.

Tourism Inspiration has done the webdesign for Marbles Inn, a cosy B&B in the newly developed IJburg, Amsterdam. The modern house is built in the Amsterdam tradition of the old canal houses. It has four levels, high ceilings, and is located next to a canal. Breakfast is served in the kitchen/dining room. The kitchen and living room areas are also available for the guests during the day. In the summer breakfast is served on the large outside terrace.

SEO & Google Analytics integration for Marblesinn.com

As Marbless Inn is only a small B&B with a realatively small advertising budget, emphasys of the site is on SEO in order to be found in the search engines. Furthermore, a Google Analytics tracking code has been added in order to get statistics about the site and how to further update & improve it. 

 

Booking Engine Integrations for Marblesinn.com

For smaller hotels and Bed & Breakfasts it is vital to be found online. So, Marbless Inn needed to be integrated into a few bookingsengines. Beds24 was chosen for channel manager and integrated at the backend. Through this tool it is possible to have the booking tool, reservation tool and finance tool integrated in the side; as well as appear in with live availebility in Booking.com, AirBnB, etc.

As soon as the booking tool was integrated and the website was live. Bookings started to come in. Marbles Inn is now working at over 85% full capacity, and reservations need to be made well in advance. In fact it has been so busy, André was able to open an extra room.

Fam Trip Northern England

Tourism Inspiration, with VisitBritain and VisitEngland, has organised and accompanied the Fam Trip to Northern England for the Yourtravel & The Travel Club Agents, in light of the 2015 Northern England campaign. This Fam trip was organised so that the travel agents of these companies could familiarise themselves with the area, and the highlights of the region.

An example is GolfinHolland, the organisation to attract golfers to the Netherlands. Here, strong images & messages were used in the emailings. Also, GolfinHolland gave away prizes for filling in questionnaires. And in most mailings GolfinHolland sought partners in order to present offers for their customers. 

Consequently, this drove potential customers to the website to seek information about partners, and through the questionnaire, deepened the information of the database.

Ultimately, this particular emailing had an open rate of over 60%, and click through rate of over 45%. Which are extremely high. Furthermore, the mailing resulted in direct sales with a number of partners.

In our First Analysis  of the Golf Travel Motivation, Tourism Inspiration provided you with the top level information about how many golf travellers take specialized golf trips; how often they play per vacation; and where they find their information.

In this further analysis we dive deeper into the information and look for the differences per region.

Tourism Inspiration decided to choose segment the following regions:

–          North-America (a sample of 72 golf travellers);

–          Great Britain & Ireland (66),

–          Mainland Europe (104);

–          Rest of the World (51): consisting of Australasia (36), Africa (5), Latin America & Caribbean (10)

First Results of the Golf Travel Motivation Survey

Further Analysis - First Results GTMS

Always wondered how many people actually take specialized golf trips?
How often they play per vacation?
And where they find out their information?

At Tourism Inspiration we have conducted some market research, and some of the First Results we’re able to share with you.

For example:

  • Almost 300 people from 38 different countries filled in the questionnaire.
  • Only about 1/3 take specialized golf trips; the rest take ‘normal’ holidays, partake in other activities, and play a few rounds of golf as well.
  • 73% play 1-3 rounds of golf per vacation; 21% play 3-7 times per vacation; 6% plays more than 7 times.
     
  • 64% find out their information about their destination on the internet; 26% find out most information from friends and family; 5.5% from magazines; 3.5% from Social Media; and only 1% name the TV as their main source of information gathering.
